Waste Solidification & Stabilization

REM-CON's chemist and Certified Hazardous Materials Manager have managed all aspects of waste solidification and stabilization-related projects. Our services include initial characterization and preliminary design, followed by pilot studies to determine the most cost-effective treatment, to full-scale implementation.

Some of our past projects are included below.

Projects

As part of a RCRA Corrective Action Plan, REM-CON treated in-situ 3,500 tons of RCRA hazardous lead impacted soils to non-hazardous conditions using a proprietary stabilization reagent.
As part of the expansion of the Hartsfield International Airport, one of the properties to be acquired by the City of Atlanta was a former trucking operation located on Lees Mill Road.
The site was a former scrap yard located on 1.1 acres near the offices of EPD in downtown Atlanta. The objective of the site remediation was to remove all soils exhibiting the hazardous characteristic for lead, placement of a protective cover (Cap) to control any future migration of the residual soil contamination, and the installation of an asphalt parking lot.
