REM-CON was contracted to excavate approximately 3,800 tons of solvent, coal tar and petroleum-impacted soils from the Site. The contaminated soils were transported and disposed of off-Site at a local Subtitle "D" landfill. REM-CON's Professional Geologist was also contracted to install 28 groundwater monitoring wells across the Site to characterize the horizontal and vertical extent of contamination.

Based on the results of the groundwater investigation, REM-CON was requested to design a program that would help stimulate biodegradation of the petroleum related contaminates. As a stimulator to the natural attenuation process, REM-CON applied an Oxygen Release Compound (ORC), which is a formulation of magnesium peroxide patented by Regenesis, to the base of the former UST excavation. REM-CON was then contracted to conduct limited free product removal from the aquifer using a passive collection method.
